Hi There,
Designer C.V. here…
Thank you for stopping by! Instead of just writing a few quick sentences, I'd love to take a moment to share my story with my amazing clients.
I grew up in New Orleans, raised by my inspiring mother, Ms. Valentine (Ms. Washington). I always watched my mom sew and create crafting projects when I was young, soaking in every detail. One day, when she was away from her sewing machine, I couldn't resist trying to imitate her. That moment felt special! Looking back, I should've just asked my mom to teach me how to sew. Instead, I absorbed her skills and sneaked in a few tries on the sewing machine whenever she wasn't around. I recall the day my curiosity about the sewing machine sparked. My mom was pleasantly surprised by my newfound interest; I had never expressed it before—I just enjoyed watching her work! Over time, she generously shared her sewing skills with me, and I treasured every lesson she taught.
Later, In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina tragically affected my hometown, we relocated to Atlanta, GA. I attended Bauder College, earning my Associate of Arts in Fashion Design. After graduating in 2007, I returned to New Orleans to launch my fashion design business at the age of 22, incorporating my mother's maiden name, Valentine, into the business name as a tribute to her influence. I participated in various local and out-of-state fashion shows, traveled for fashion exposure, and designed for diverse clients. Many social media platforms didn't exist then, or I was unaware of them, and I felt inexperienced in the business. I experienced significant fatigue from traveling, the overwhelming number of clients, and the inability to achieve a satisfactory profit, but I persevered.
In 2011, I married my best friend and later embraced the fulfilling experience of motherhood to three delightful children—two handsome sons and one precious daughter. While enjoying the roles of a wife and mother, I wanted to slow down and cherish those precious moments with my family, putting them ahead of the fast-paced world of fashion shows and traveling. As a result, I determined that a change was essential for my career. I returned to college, obtained my Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA), and worked behind the scenes in healthcare from the convenience of my home. I perceived this as a new chapter in my life.
It's hard to grasp that over a decade has passed since I left my Fashion Design career. Everything seemed to be going so well, but then, in early 2024, we faced a devastating loss with our youngest son, who had a significant mission for our Heavenly Father and is now our Angel Baby. The year 2024 has posed unique challenges for my family and me. I needed to escape that depression, so I sought understanding and guidance from our Heavenly Father, which led me back to Fashion Design, a passion that has rekindled immense joy in my heart. My family and I are incredibly proud of how I confront life's obstacles and refuse to let them defeat me. I genuinely believe our Angel Baby watches over me, cheering me on at every step!
My purpose isn't chasing fame or being in the spotlight; it's genuinely about embracing the joy that sewing, crafting, and designing brings to my heart. There's something so special about creating unique, one-of-a-kind custom designs for amazing clients that makes it all worthwhile!
I got this, I can do this, and you can too...
Thank you again for stopping by!
